Michael Davison commented on Brian Morse's blog post 'Inviting Thoughts on Recent Tax Compromise'
"The tax compromise may do some good for the working and working poor, but it is a glaring example, like the recent election, that our nation is living through another plutocracy phase.  If you have the time to read the text of a speech by Bill…"

I can't help but think that being a follower of Jesus has something to… Continue

Order of Ministry Thoughts

Posted on November 23, 2009 at 9:30am 2 Comments

I am not a fan of the rewriting of the Order of Ministry that includes an alternative track to ordination. I am almost finished with a somewhat lengthy blog post on my site, Davison's Doodle, that argues against the alternative track based on two points: 1) The AT makes the exception authority of each Regional COM to bless an individuals ordination to serve in a local congregation equal normative; 2) Because our ordination liturgy, and understanding or ordination is ecumenical, it requires… Continue

Built in 1851, it was restored in 2007, thus we are tending history. It was in our home that John Roberts founded First Christian church, Lynchburg.

The free-time I have had since July 1 has provide me the… Continue

Martinsville? We went to the NASCAR race there in Oct. 2008. Great track. We hope to come back to another race there. How are you liking the church work there?
