I've been in South Florida since 2000. The church I serve is very diverse. Unlike the church in Louisville this church always struggles with money shortage. As we have gotten more diverse we have gotten poorer. I love the passion for the poor and marginalized that is found in this congregation. We provide groceries for forty, fifty and more families a week. But I would also like to be able to pay the bills. Still the ministry here has been very rewarding and I haven't had to deal with the kinds of struggles that seemed to be so constantly present at FCC, like the ones with the Prospectors Class. Looking back, I should have left years earlier. I have more tenacity than is good for me. I've continued doing some writing. I finished a book a few years ago.

If so, I didn't know you left the American Baptists. Hope your life and ministry is rewarding.
