- Thanks, again, Doug. That's a lot of help, although not exactly welcome news. We've had a special "Broadway Sunday" service for the past few years, and it looks like we'll have to jump through some hoops if we want to continue. I think we'll give it a go with writing the copyright holders for permission to use their songs. We may get lucky. I suppose "Godspell", or at least "Day by Day" from "Godspell" has been exempted; it's in the Chalice Hymnal!

You mentioned that "Edelweiss" would not be considered exempt from the copyright restrictions in your paper, "Copyright Law and Multimedia Use in the Classroom and Church." Was that example based on another reference? I'm trying to extrapolate that example to determine what would be considered "dramaticomusical
work of a religious nature,"
