There's a new Ning site for discussing the future of technology and infrastructure in Haiti. I thought this group would appreciate knowing. It's called "Haiti Rewired."

Hi, fellow TechnoGeeks...I posted a blog entry here on The Intersection about online Communion. Some of you may already be discussing this in other circles, or have been following blogs and discussions on the Internet, or have read theological papers or other resources. Right now, I'm trying to identify the questions that should frame the discussion. I feel like that's an important step. Maybe you can help. Also, have any of you participated in an online Communion service?

Hea folks, as techno-geeks we should really do a better job of using this technology :-). This area "The Comment Wall" is usually reserved for general comments about the technoGeek area, for introductions, etc.
If you have a real discussion topic, you should click above where it says "Start Discussion" and create a new thread. That way each topic stays in it's own silo instead of being mixed into one long thread. When you have one long thread like this - really good discussions get lost on page 2 very quickly.
Just a suggestion.

The Indiana region uses Mozy, and I use Carbonite at home. I've been pleased with both, although I've had some stability problems with Mozy's servers, i.e., backups not processing because the connection with the server could not be made. I'm going to take a look at Jungle Disk.

Heath Coffey - You might look into Jungle Disk. They are much less expensive than Carbonite and use Amazon's web servers as a backbone. I'm very pleased. www.jungledisk.com

I am looking into the possibility of using an online backup service for christmount's server. Are they worth using? Are there any others besides Mozy?

Hey Jose, Finally got to listen to your tunes....thanks. Even us 50 somethings like techno! I think we might be surprised at the turn out for a Cosmic Mass at GA. The youth would really like it, I'm sure. Stay in touch....Lorette

Intel introduces distributed computing to Facebook If folks want to donate "unused" computing cycles in the name of Christ on some of these projects I've created a team called "Christian Crunchers". You should be able to search and sign up if you'd care to or if you'd want to encourage others.
