Thanks Rebecca....I'll contact him. We've already talked about a couple of ideas regarding music. I agree there is an untapped resource there for people who are encountering or have encountered crisis in their lives.

Jose Morales might be a good source for that, Lorette. He and I had an interesting conversation a while back about Psalms of lament and lamentation. He believes they offer the church a great and often untapped resource. You can reach him through The Intersection or if you want his email or phone number, just let me know.

I'm working on a retreat and I want to use the writing of laments as part of the process. Does anyone have any info about laments and Lamentations?

hmmmm looks like an interesting group.

Serious backpackers can all tell you about a time they met someone on the trail when either they or the other person needed some serious help. In those situations it just happens; you don't really think about it. (Interactions with certain types locals can be much more problematic.) You are going to eventually have an equipment failure or have a health issue. I have received water tablets, exchanged fuel for food, had religious discussions, tied the soles of someone's shoes to the rest of their shoe, taped blisters, had to bail on a trip and get someone to pick me up, fearfully crossed a few creeks, provided trail advice, etc.

Share an experience when hospitality was an important factor in an outdoor event. Was the hospitality intentionally planned or did it just happen? If it was spontaneous, how could it be encouraged to occur again?
