Photographers -- the "God is in the Small Stuff" assignment gave us a chance to share a number of beautiful and interesting photos. We're launching our first Photo Contest today, on the theme "Lending a Hand." The winning entry will be featured in the November/December issue of DisciplesWorld magazine.

VOTING: The winning entry will be determined by members of The Intersection. You can post your vote as a Reply to the entry you'd like to vote for, or if you want your vote to be private, send it as a private message to Rebecca Woods, The Intersection's community manager.

Voting deadline is Friday, October 9.

A picture of my son Ethan picking up trash as part of a community clean-up day here in Signal Hill, CA, on August 29. I heard about this event and was excited, since it took place on a stretch of road where I often go jogging (and thus, I knew it was in need of a clean-up).

My vote goes to this photo.
This is my choice for winner.
I would choose this one.

I was moved watching the assembly worshipers respond to the young people lending their talents at the General Assembly. There was a feeling of oneness and importance as the music was shared.
I just love this photo.
This photo was taken at Camp Christian August '09 and is chock full of helpers: the young adults on the right are some of the camp staff, serving the campers at our outdoor picnic. The photographer on the left is a fellow counselor who volunteered his free time to take pictures all week long to compile a terrific 'memories of the week' presentation of camp life. It's great to serve the Lord!

Congratulations, Danny! Love the photo. Looks good in the November/December issue of DisciplesWorld as well (currently at the printer).
I know it's too late but I'll send this anyway. It was taken in Chi Rho Country of the Christian Conference Center in Newton Iowa. My daughter Amanda took it in one of the villages during free time. Enjoy
