DARE to Lead

DARE is an innovative ministry approach to spiritual discernment, assessment, recruitment, and empowerment for transformational leadership. It is a strategic way to populate a pool of emerging candidates for transformation. We create spaces and places for asking the broad question, “What is your God moment and what do you do with it?” by creating road maps, building trust and practicing care. DARE helps potential leaders move into this new imagination of ministry, discerning God’s will for their lives.

DARE is diverse and culturally sensitive, inclusive of all races and ethnicities throughout the denomination and beyond. Events and initiatives will be appropriate to each constituency group.

DARE includes a variety of online resources, recruiting and mentoring stations, and mobile assessment centers for congregational and other Disciples venues, where DARE facilitators ask self-awakening questions about leadership call and vocation.

The DARE To Lead Tour helps Hope Partners and others to identify potential candidates and walk with them through the DARE process. Members of the team along with mentors, church leaders, etc. will walk people through the DARE. This is a mobile venue that could take place during general and regional assemblies, constituency group events (Hispanic, NAPAD, National Convocation), ICYF and GYC events, seminaries, and congregational events.
